Human Trafficking Awareness for Truckers and Truck Stops
Why It Matters
Truckers are the eyes and ears of America's highways. Every day, thousands of drivers and truck stop workers are in a position to spot and stop human trafficking — a crime that often hides in plain sight. Your awareness can save lives.
Signs of Human Trafficking

Stay alert for these warning signs:
-
Individuals who appear scared, anxious, or avoid eye contact.
-
Someone who seems controlled by another person — not allowed to speak for themselves.
-
Lack of personal items (bags, wallet, phone) or possession of fake IDs.
-
Signs of physical abuse: bruises, cuts, or malnourishment.
-
Minors traveling alone or with unrelated adults at odd hours.
-
High foot traffic in and out of trucks, RVs, or motel rooms — especially involving different people.
